Subject: Urgent Complaint: Mold Found in Friskies Pate Cat Food Varieties and Non-responsive Customer Service

Dear Purina Friskies Customer Support,

I am writing to express my deep concern and dissatisfaction with a recent experience involving Friskies canned Pate cat food. While I have been a loyal customer for many years, the incident I am about to share has seriously tarnished my trust in your brand.

I have discovered mold on multiple varieties of the Pate cat food that I purchased.

This was not an isolated incident, as I found both black and white mold in a total of four separate cans. It is important to note that none of these cans were damaged in any way and were well within their expiration dates (June 2025). This alarming discovery has left me worried about the safety and quality of your products.

I initially reached out to your customer service team via Facebook Messenger and provided all the information requested. However, I have yet to receive any acknowledgement or resolution to my complaint.

It appears that my messages have not even been read in entirety, which I find unprofessional and dismissive.

I made the purchase from a PetSmart location in Cheektowaga, New York. I have retained the receipt of the purchase and have taken photographs of the mold in the cans, all of which can be provided upon request.

This situation has left me with a number of unanswered questions. Is this a known issue? What steps are being taken to ensure product safety?

How can I be compensated for this defective product? And most importantly, how can I be assured of the safety of your products in the future?

I trust that Purina Friskies values its customers and their pets' health above all.

Therefore, I kindly request that this matter be taken seriously and that I receive a prompt and satisfactory resolution.

I bought a box of 40 cans of the seafood and chicken flavored paté wet cat food maybe about a week ago. Not quite half way through the box yet and I opened a can to feed my cat tonight and there is mold or something in the middle of the food.

I found it because I spoon the food out for him and put it in his bowl. The bottom of the can says Best Before: November 2025. I have pictures of the mold/ick in the can and his bowl bc I had just scooped it out and was about to give it to him.

Ive never come across this issue before and Ive been buying this food for my cat for quite some time. Im worried about the rest of the box now.

Please advise.

Bought a bag of Dumor Purina Layer Crumble chicken feed. The food was terribly dusty.

I spend a good amount on chicken feed every month but this bag i could barely feed to my chickens because there is very little crumble and mostly dust.

I have purchased other brands before even cheaper ones which had a better quality of crumble. I switched to Purina Dumor because I thought I would be getting better quality.

I am out $22 plus my time and having to buy a second bag of another brand @ $20 because I cannot feed this bag to my birds.

Purchased at Tractor Supply - Saint Clair PA 17970.

I have pictures of the UPC and food.

Also the company will not respond to your emails about the quality of the food. I received an email that they received it but decided not to act upon it.

Hello, I am contacting you in regards to a problem I have been enduring for the past month. My two year old Labrador has been having bowel problems after consuming your product Loyal: All stages of life dry kibble.

At first, we couldnt find the culprit to her stomach problems. We took her to the vet and ran tests to see if she might have developed a condition since we had no idea what was causing her to have uncontrollable bowl accidents. To our surprise, her labs came back perfect. The only issue was, her white blood cell count was up due to her being in nervous as my vet stated.

This could have been caused since she was in discomfort. We finally found out it was her dog kibble when we switched her to only white rice and boiled turkey to assist in her loose stool. Every time we tried incorporating a small amount of kibble back into her diet, she would be in discomfort an hour or so later. The reason why we did not suspect it was your brand of kibble at first is because, she had been eating the same line for a year and a half.

Finally, after we slowly incorporated a different brand of dog food into her diet, my dog has stopped having these bowl issues.

To conclude, I wanted to bring this problem to your attention in case other people have not come forward. I have read your statement on January 5th, and I do believe the media and some pet parents who have not been effected have been too extreme and causing unnecessary stress and chaos to parents who use your Pro Plus Plan. However, the consumers who have been affected should be heard.

After battling this problem for over a month, I do believe there may be an issue with the production with some of your kibble; not only with the Pro Plus Plan. To me, it's a strange coincidence.

Buenas tardes Hace 15 días se compró una arena en Sams club que por economía allá venden un vuelto de arena es la única referencia de purina , como es posible que siendo 15 días mis gatos empezaron hacerse por fuera de su arena orinando y haciendo sus heces , esa arena es publicidad engañosa por que dice que ayuda al olor y nisoquiera hace bola al orine o al hacer sus necesidades , mis gatos jamás habían echo eso , después de ellos usar por unos días esa arena la odiaron por qué no hace bola a los orines y su olor es asqueroso , me parace una falta de respeto de parte de ustedes , llegaré hasta el final con esto por qué más personas no tienen por qué pasar por eso !
